AUDIO RECORDING ON LOCATION
NEW FALL DATES ANNOUNCING SOON
Curious about the mysterious world of location sound? The Sound Mixer’s primary responsibility is capturing clean dialog recordings, but the position often encompasses a world of other nuances and technical challenges. Expert audio recordist Jesse Nordhausen will go over basic audio equipment (mixers/recorders, booms, wireless lavaliers, timecode), as well as overall on-set workflows, interactions with other departments, and how the job can vary dependent on the type of production. Hands on practice with the biggest sound witchcraft of all, hiding lavalier microphones for clear dialog with minimal clothing noise.
